Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Pull Rates: Full Rarity Guide
Based on TCGplayer pull rate research published 24 September 2026. Sample size: more than 3,000 booster packs.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration has brought some of the most exciting pack openings of the Mega Evolution Series so far. With guaranteed Pikachu Rare cards, returning Classic Collection favourites and three mysterious RGB Mew cards, there is plenty for collectors to chase.
But how difficult is it to pull the rarest cards? And what are the actual Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration pull rates?
TCGplayer's Authentication Center opened more than 3,000 Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration booster packs to investigate.
Their findings give us an early statistical picture of how frequently different rarities appear, including Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares, Classic Collection cards, Futuristic Rares and RGB Rares.
We have broken down the results below, including the odds of pulling individual chase cards such as Charizard, Lugia, Gengar ex, Pikachu ex and Mew.
30th Celebration pull rates at a glance
The headline finding is that 30th Celebration appears to offer a particularly rewarding pack-opening experience, although the rarest chase cards remain extremely difficult to find.
According to TCGplayer, collectors can expect a hit in roughly one out of every three 30th Celebration packs, compared with approximately one in five packs across other Mega Evolution Series releases.
This does not include the Pikachu Rare card guaranteed in every 30th Celebration booster pack.
Important: These are estimated probabilities based on a sample of booster packs, not guaranteed outcomes. Your own pulls may vary.

Source: TCGplayer, 24 September 2026. Rounded odds are approximations based on the observed percentages, not guaranteed pulls.
Double Rares and Illustration Rares are among the most accessible higher-rarity cards, each appearing in approximately one out of five packs.
Classic Collection cards appear around once in ten packs, while Special Illustration Rares are considerably less common. Futuristic Rares are rarer still, and RGB Rare Mew cards were not found in TCGplayer's sample.
What can you pull from a 30th Celebration booster pack?
Unlike standard Pokémon TCG booster packs, 30th Celebration packs contain five foil cards. Each pack also includes a guaranteed Pikachu Rare.
This makes the set feel different from a typical Pokémon TCG expansion. Every pack contains a Pikachu collectible, with the possibility of finding additional rare cards depending on the pack.
The research found that Illustration Rares and Classic Collection cards can appear in the third card slot, while Double Rares, Special Illustration Rares and Futuristic Rares were recorded in the fourth slot. The Pikachu Rare occupies the final slot.
Does every pack contain a hit? Every 30th Celebration pack includes a Pikachu Rare, but that does not mean every pack contains an Illustration Rare, Special Illustration Rare, Classic Collection card or another high-rarity pull.
30th Celebration chase cards by rarity
From Classic Collection reprints to Futuristic Rares and elusive Mew cards, 30th Celebration has a diverse selection of collectibles.
We have grouped some of the most interesting cards by rarity below, alongside their estimated pull rates. This makes it easier to compare the different chase cards available in the expansion.
Double Rare
21.02% pull rate | Around 1 in 5 packsThere are 12 Double Rare cards in 30th Celebration, including popular Pokémon ex such as Umbreon ex and Greninja ex.

The estimated chance of pulling a particular Double Rare card is approximately 1 in 48 packs, assuming equal distribution.
Illustration Rare
19.72% pull rate | Around 1 in 5 packsIllustration Rares feature full-card artwork and are a major attraction for collectors. There are 18 Illustration Rare cards in 30th Celebration.

The estimated chance of finding a specific Illustration Rare is approximately 1 in 91 packs.
Classic Collection
10.15% pull rate | Around 1 in 10 packsOne of the defining features of 30th Celebration is the return of classic Pokémon TCG cards.
The Classic Collection contains 30 cards, featuring reprints of older favourites with distinctive gold borders and anniversary branding.

Although any Classic Collection card appears approximately once in every ten packs, the estimated chance of pulling a particular card such as Charizard or Lugia is around 1 in 295 packs.
Special Illustration Rare
4.88% pull rate | Around 1 in 21 packsSpecial Illustration Rares feature detailed alternate artwork and are among the most sought-after cards in modern Pokémon TCG expansions.
There are 10 Special Illustration Rare cards in 30th Celebration, including Gengar ex and Pikachu ex.

The estimated chance of pulling any Special Illustration Rare is around 1 in 21 packs. For one particular SIR, the odds are approximately 1 in 205 packs.
Futuristic Rare
0.83% pull rate | Around 1 in 120 packsFuturistic Rares are a particularly interesting rarity in 30th Celebration, featuring just two cards: Mew ex and Mewtwo ex.

TCGplayer found a Futuristic Rare in approximately 0.83% of packs. The estimated chance of pulling one specific Futuristic Rare is around 1 in 240 packs.
RGB Rare: The three Mew cards
Pull rate unknown | 0 found in 3,000+ packsThe rarest cards discussed in TCGplayer's research are the three RGB Mew cards. These feature distinctive red, green and blue variations.
Their scarcity makes them particularly interesting. Across more than 3,000 booster packs opened for the study, TCGplayer did not find a single RGB Rare.

RGB Mew pull rate: Unknown. No RGB Mew cards were found in TCGplayer's sample. This does not establish their exact odds, so a specific "1 in X packs" figure cannot be reliably assigned.

What are the odds of pulling a specific 30th Celebration card?
Finding any card of a particular rarity is different from pulling the exact card you want. The table below shows the estimated chance of finding one specific card within each rarity.
| Specific card rarity | Pull rate | Approx. odds |
|---|---|---|
| Double Rare | 2.10% | 1 in 48 |
| Illustration Rare | 1.10% | 1 in 91 |
| Classic Collection | 0.34% | 1 in 295 |
| Special Illustration Rare | 0.49% | 1 in 205 |
| Futuristic Rare | 0.42% | 1 in 240 |
| RGB Rare | Unknown | Unknown |
Estimates assume all cards within the same rarity have equal pull frequencies. Actual card distribution may differ.
This explains why pulling a Classic Collection card can be relatively common while finding one particular card, such as Charizard, remains considerably more difficult.
The same principle applies to Special Illustration Rares. Although the overall rarity appears approximately once every 21 packs, the estimated odds of finding one specific Special Illustration Rare are closer to 1 in 205.
How do 30th Celebration pull rates compare with other Pokémon sets?
One of the most interesting findings is how 30th Celebration compares with other releases in the Mega Evolution Series.
According to TCGplayer, Illustration Rares appear approximately once in every five 30th Celebration packs, compared with around once in every nine packs for other Mega Evolution Series sets.
The difference is even greater for Special Illustration Rares. In 30th Celebration, the estimated pull rate is 1 in 21 packs, compared with approximately 1 in 80 packs across other Mega Evolution Series releases in TCGplayer's comparison.
This suggests that 30th Celebration offers more frequent opportunities to pull higher-rarity artwork. However, individual chase cards such as Classic Collection Charizard and the RGB Mew trio can still be extremely difficult to find.
How reliable are these Pokémon TCG pull rates?
The figures in this guide come from TCGplayer's Authentication Center, which opened more than 3,000 booster packs ahead of publishing its findings on 24 September 2026.
TCGplayer used a 95% confidence interval when reporting the observed pull rates. These intervals help describe the statistical uncertainty surrounding each estimate.
For example, the observed Illustration Rare rate was 19.72% ± 1.37 percentage points, while the Special Illustration Rare rate was 4.88% ± 0.74 percentage points.
The rounded "1 in X packs" figures make the results easier to understand, but the underlying percentages provide a more precise representation of what was observed.
No sample can guarantee what an individual collector will pull. Pokémon booster packs are randomised, and opening the number of packs shown in these tables does not guarantee a card or rarity.
The RGB Mew cards are an important limitation of the research. Because none were found in the sample, a reliable pull rate could not be calculated.
Is Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration worth opening?
From a pack-opening perspective, the available data makes 30th Celebration an appealing expansion for collectors who enjoy finding Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares and other distinctive anniversary cards.
The guaranteed Pikachu Rare adds another collectible element to every booster pack, while the relatively frequent Illustration Rare pulls provide opportunities to discover attractive artwork.
However, collectors chasing a particular Classic Collection Charizard, a specific SIR or one of the elusive RGB Mew cards should remember how low the individual-card odds can be.
Opening packs can be enjoyable, but it should not be treated as a reliable way to obtain a specific valuable card or recover the cost of the packs.
